Sometimes you might want to exchange between robots and Visual Components does not allows you to do that. The reason is, you cannot exchange robots having different number of joints and it is not recommended to do so. For example if you try to exchange robots between ABB IRB 460 and Yaskawa MPL160.
However, if you still want to exchange, for some reason, you can configure required number of “dummy joints” in the controller properties of MPL160. Here it’s two more. Once added you will see this,
Now if you try to exchange the robots, the MPL160 will be highlighted yellow and you can exchange now.
Hey,
i hope it okay that ask my question here! But i seem to have a problem trying to exchange the robots.
I tried to open total new program - Adding a robot and making 3 new movements. Then adding in the exact same robot. And when i try to exchange them - they are still grey and it wont allow me to exchange them. In any of my programs on VC.
Anyone that knows of an annoying option i have to add or know of anything that might cause this problem?
