Vanished Robots after Update 4.10

Hello everyone,

I recently updated my VC to 4.10. After starting the program and loading my layout I discovered, that my Yaskawa robots were missing. After a closer look it appears, that my robots are not missing but rather their geometry is not laoded properly.

Does someone has a fix or knows how to resolve this issue?

Best regards

Most likely you just need to enable legacy libraries for that old version where layout was built. See this post and “Legacy Libraries” header on it. It shows how to enable legacy libraries.

In general when migrating to new platform (new app version, new PC) it’s better to save layouts with “Include Components” setting enabled. That way all the component geometries are saved in the layout file itself.

Hey keke,

thank you very much for your help.
Indeed that did the trick.
Is there a way to export/import my 4.8 VC model to a 4.10 VC model without losing any information in the process. This would be very interesting to avoid long loading times.

If you have 4.8 still activated you can open layout there and save it with “Include Components” setting. Then it should open correctly in 4.10 or other version without needing legacy libraries.

Another way is to enable legacy libraries in 4.10, open the layout, save it with “Include Components” and then disable legacy libraries.

Having one legacy source enabled shouldn’t slow down eCat indexing too much. But having all of them (4.0-4.9) enabled starts to have noticeable effect in indexing speed.
