I do not know what files have been deleted, the startup software has the following error, and the module label has disappeared.The same goes for reinstalling software.
Maybe you have some addon that causes issues? I would try deleting all Python and .NET addons that you might have installed and seeing if that fixes the issue.
If that does not fix it, I would uninstall the software, ensure all the files have been removed, and then install it again.
Hello Este, my colleague and I already had this problem. The support told us to delete the “AppConfig” directory. The path is user->appdata->local->VC->appconfig.
This kind of resets the personal settings for the user experience of VC, but it actually helps.
Idk, how many users are already experiencing this type of error, but @Maggie is not the first one. A bugfix for the next update would be very appreciated.

Well, in my situation i had to delete the folder also two times before the “bugfix” was persistant.
4.9.2 was just released. It has one bug fix which might be related to this very problem. Here are the release notes:
