Hello,
In my simulation, the machining process differs depending on whether the part is processed individually or on a pallet.
For individual parts, the robot first checks whether a fixture is already in the machine. If there is no fixture, the robot transports one into the machine. The robot then loads the individual part, the part is processed, and afterwards the finished part is transported back to storage.
For palletized parts, the complete pallet is transported to the machine. Therefore, if a fixture is currently in the machine, it has to be removed first. The parts are then processed while remaining on the pallet, after which the pallet is transported back to its designated storage location.
The process sequences should therefore be:
Individual part:
-
Check if a fixture is in the machine
-
If there is no fixture → transport a fixture into the machine
-
Transport the part into the machine
-
Process the part
-
Transport the finished part out
Palletized part:
-
Check if a fixture is in the machine
-
If there is a fixture → remove the fixture
-
Transport the pallet into the machine
-
Process the parts
-
Transport the pallet out
I have created two separate processes for these two cases:
However, I cannot reserve the products in advance, because this causes the fixture transportation to behave incorrectly. Without product reservation, the two processes have to strictly alternate. This means that if the next required part is not available, the machine waits instead of processing another available part.
Is there a way to set up the processes so that the machine can automatically process whichever product type is currently available, without strictly alternating between the two processes?
Thanks in advance!
