Do you think it will be possible to display heat maps in VC in the future?
Where there is a lot of traffic, work etc. in red
little in blue etc.
and then display this for different things for people, forklifts, trucks etc.
would be awesome if such a feature could be introduced in the future thanks a lot
I think the latest resource models from VC 4.9 eCat already have something like that. They can visualize the relative usage of different paths and related other info.
The “heat” of traffic is already displayed with the width of the lines, when you click on "Show Traffic or “Show all Traffic” in the Transport Controller of a resource.
You could easily adapt the script of a Transport Controller to also show a different color :
Hello,
First of all, thank you for your effort. A great approach and I think the percentage way is the only way to approach it, because with absolute values, everything would be dark at some point.
I will incorporate it into my layout and report back.
Thank you very much.
Is something like this also possibly possible for processes, i.e. where most of the process time is?
My pleasure! Great to hear that you find it useful.
Your feedback will be appreciated!
That’s what I was thinking too.
Why not. How would you like to define the process time?
One approach is to check the busy state percentage / utilization rate of the processes. That could be quite easy to visualize with a colors in the 3D scene. For example, if the process utilization was between 90% and 100% during the last time interval, some geometry of it would be painted red. Would that work?
