How to move already-positioned trolleys to the next node without using a Feeder?

Hi,

I am currently building a logistics simulation and ran into an issue.

I would like to move trolleys to the next node. When trolleys are created by a Feeder, I can select the Feeder’s node in the Flow tab and control the routing from there.

However, I already have trolleys positioned in the layout (not generated by a Feeder), and I cannot figure out how to recognize or control these trolleys in the Flow tab.

For the trolley waiting area, I am currently using the Floorspace Buffer component from the catalog.

How can I move or route trolleys that were not created by a Feeder?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

If the trolleys are not created during the simulation (dynamic products), then you can’t control them like products in your flow.

However you could define them as “Resource Tools” (see the file in the eCat) with an abstract interface that you can connect to the Human or Mobile Robot Transport Controller, to be used for transporting other products.

You can also use Missions to only move the Resource Tools.

There are some example in the Layout Templates in the eCat:

  • Resource Tool Trolley
  • Mobile Robots with Carts
