In the visual component 4.10, there is the interface that allow users to define the product type (see picture below)
But I updated it to 5.10, I couldn’t find where can I define/modify the type, could anyone tell me how to deal with this problem? Thank in advance!

There is currently a bug with 5.1 version that has hidden these properties from the Assembly UI.
Right now assembly slots cannot be defined with 5.1, but hopefully a bug fix version is reeased soon.

As a workaround, you can set the default product type using Python.
In this example with Python 3.
ptm = world.ProcessController.ProductTypeManager
assembly = ptm.findProductType("PalletAssembly")
product = ptm.findProductType("Pallet")
assembly.Steps[0].Pattern.Slots[0].Item.DefaultProductType = product
I hope they fix it soon.

The bug fix was released, you can download the newest version on the Visual Components website

You mean VC 5.1 would need to be re-installed from https://www.visualcomponents.com/downloads/ in order to get this bug fixed?
It does say (Updated on 30/06/2026) there, does that include the bugfix?
Some more official communication from the VC team regarding such issues would be great, this bug is affecting the users’ ability to use the software in this version.
