How do I make a custom part and have it come out of a feeder

I made a simple part based on 3 basic shapes. I want that new part to come out of a feeder. I have tried to group them and merge them, but neither worked. Any ideas on how to make this happen?

attach all of the components to one of them and then define this as the product to be created in your feeder:
